Des lois des dialogues
Mario Côté
In this film by Mario Côté, two men and a woman are looking for a place to meet, in the heat of summer. As they walk, they reflect on society, drawing freely on Plato’s final treatise, The Laws, in which he writes about the fictional construction of a model city. Plato’s dialogues are transposed to the modern world by writer Marie-Line Laplante. Filmmakers Micheline Lanctôt, Alain Fleischer and André S. Labarthe play the three characters. The Montreal painter and video artist constructs a philosophical fiction of an anachronistic and disturbing reality.
