Méditation tentaculaire sur la chorégraphie des corps dans le paysage urbain moscovite, Detours dépeint une nouvelle façon de vendre des drogues illicites via le Darknet, la superposition des réalités physiques et virtuelles, ainsi qu’une poétique et une politique de l’espace. Se déroulant dans des quartiers endormis, entre les murs de béton des tours, derrière des garages et au milieu de voies ferrées abandonnées, le film suit et perd tour à tour la trace de Denis, dealer sillonnant la ville pour y cacher des réserves de drogue.

Ekaterina Selenkina is a filmmaker, artist and educator born in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1992. Her debut feature Detours (2021) received a special prize at Venice International Film Festival, the Bright Future Award of the Hubert Bals Fund, Eurimages Lab Project Award at Les Arcs Film Festival, best film award at FILMADRID and best national film at New Holland Island International Debut Film Festival. Her work was shown at Venice International Film Critics Week, Viennale, The Barbican Centre, FICUNAM, Jeonju IFF, Thessaloniki IFF, IndieLisboa, Garage Museum of Modern Art, Camerimage, Berlin Critics’ Week, REDCAT, Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin, Image Forum, Beldocs, Marienbad IFF, FILMADRID, among many others. Together with Zaina Bseiso, Luis Gutiérrez Arias and Joie Estrella Horwitz, she is a co-founder and member of the film collective Bahía Colectiva. Ekaterina currently works as an editor for the decolonial online journal Beda, which studies and dismantles the Russian imperial project. Ekaterina received her MFA in Film/Video from California Institute of the Arts.
