Ce film sera présenté lors de l’événement La Nuit de la danse le 16 mars 2023 au Théâtre Outremont.
She est une adaptation cinématographique d’une performance de danse solo portant le même nom. L’œuvre originale créée et interprétée par Dorotea Saykaly a été présenté au grand public en 2019. Inspiré de La Passion selon G.H. de Clarice Lispector, le solo tournait autour de l’identité et du doute. Cette adaptation cinématographique est née lors du premier lockdown du COVID en 2020, d’une collaboration entre Dorotea Saykaly et le réalisateur Emil Dam Seidel. Un brillant court-métrage de danse qui mêle fiction et chorégraphie sous la direction musicale du compositeur montréalais Louis Dufort.

Emil Dam Seidel is an award winning film director. Most recently he wrote and directed the short interactive web series ‘Courage to Act’, for which he received the Silver Screen Young Director Award in Cannes in 2022 and was awarded silver for best campaign at the True Award 2022. The year before he directed and produced the acclaimed dance film ‘SHE’, which had its international premiere at the Fotografiska Museum in New York City in 2022, has been awarded at several occasions and selected for more than 25 film festivals across the globe. Before starting his own career as a director, Emil assisted director Thomas Vinterberg on the academy award winning film ‘Another Round’ and the academy award winning director Susanne Bier on the film ‘A Second Chance’.
