Dust to Dust retrace le parcours inspirant du designer japonais Yuima Nakazato, l’un des rares créateurs japonais invités à la prestigieuse Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. Connu pour son engagement éthique et son approche novatrice, Nakazato place au cœur de ce documentaire sa collection INHERIT, conçue à partir de 150 kg de textiles récupérés dans la plus grande décharge du monde, située au Kenya. Le film transporte les spectateur·rice·s à travers les paysages saisissants des décharges kényanes, révélant l’impact environnemental catastrophique de l’industrie de la fast fashion. Dust to Dust met en lumière l’urgence de repenser notre rapport aux vêtements tout en célébrant la vision révolutionnaire de Nakazato, où l’art et la créativité se marient à une conscience écologique profonde.

Kosai Sekine, a film director from Tokyo, gained early acclaim with his debut short film, earning three prestigious awards at the Cannes Lions Young Director Award in 2006. He quickly rose to prominence in the advertising and music video sector, becoming one of the most award — winning directors in the industry in 2014. In 2018, Kosai directed his first feature film and is now engaged in both narrative and documentary films. His latest documentary, DUST TO DUST, won the Human/Nature Award at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2024.
