Incursion intrigante dans la vie mouvementée et la transformation créative de l’artiste contemporain suisse Not Vital. Cet essai cinématographique met en lumière l’œuvre du célèbre artiste originaire des Grisons, longtemps resté « l’inconnu bien connu » dans son pays d’origine. Le réalisateur Pascal Hofmann retrace la force motrice de ce cosmopolite agité, à travers les motifs de son œuvre, ses rêves d’enfant, et l’influence de ses lieux de séjour de prédilection comme Pékin, la Patagonie, le Niger, Sent, son village suisse, et New York.

Pascal Hofmann (Author, Director, co-Editor), was born 1977 in Flims Grisons, Switzerland. In 1997, he obtained a Diploma as a draughtsman in structural engineering. In 2002, he gained a Diploma Gestalterische Berufsmaturitätsschule Zürich. From 2003 to 2009, he studied film direction at Zürich University of Arts (ZHdK) and obtained the Diploma « Master of Arts in Film ». In 2010, he premiered his first feature film Daniel Schmid – Le chat qui pense at Berlinale (Master diploma film). In 2011, he won the promotional art award of Kanton Grisons and was portraited as a filmmaker from Grisons in the book Bündner Kulturschaffende by Höneisen/Brunner/Andrea 2009. Since 2016, he directs the Hotel Arena Flims company. Pascal Hofmann lives and works in Zürich.
