Ce film sera présenté lors de l’événement La Nuit du court le 16 mars 2024 à l’Université Concordia.
Sélectionné au Festival du Film d’Architecture de Venise, NIX offre une rencontre éthérée avec la lumière et la météo dans un fort de neige contemporain sur le sentier gelé de la rivière Nestaweya à Winnipeg. Créée pour le concours des Warming Huts de 2023, l’artiste Wanda Koop, le designer Thom Fougere et une équipe d’experts de la neige conçoivent cette structure temporaire, mêlant art et architecture. Le jeu de lumière et de son résonne au sein d’un vortex polaire au centre géographique de l’Amérique du Nord.

Katherine Knight is recognized for her evocative photographic art and her documentary films on art and culture. Commitment to place, creative process, and material culture underscores Knight’s film and photographic works. In 2000, Knight received the Duke and Duchess of York Prize from the Canada Council, recognizing excellence in Photography. In 2006, Knight founded Site Media Inc., to create films on artists and creative processes about experiences of place. Site Media’s seven award-winning films have played worldwide through festivals, television broadcasts, and post-secondary distribution.

Anthony Von Seck is an award-winning Canadian-based filmmaker and musician having worked on productions for Apple +TV, Amazon, Discovery, APTN, and CBC. His independent short films, Limbo and The 100TH Victim, explore his unique style of dirt noir thrillers. He has documented artists Drake and Ziggy Marley, and won a Canadian Juno Award for his feature directorial-debut documentary Look at What the Light Did Now for Canadian artist Feist. Von Seck was Cinematographer and Lead Editor on the Apple+ TV series Long Way Up, starring Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman.
