brouillard : études préliminaires pont Jacques-Cartier

Alexandre Larose

Canada | 2009 | 1 min
Preliminary studies on 16 mm film, tied to the brouillard project; these studies focus on the Jacques-Cartier bridge.

A first retrospective in America on Alexandre Larose’s works, a Montreal filmmaker whose interest lies in working with cinematographic images, shooting landscapes, portraits and interiors. This selection celebrates the research of an artist who works with light, reuniting various iterations of brouillard, the series that made him famous. Each piece presents an accumulation of trajectories on film, as he walks along the paths with his camera, superposing the images through in-camera editing. This man with a movie camera” of the 21st century brings forth spaces which are transforming and dissolving before your very eyes.
