Carlotta’s Face
Valentin Riedl, Frédéric Schuld
When Carlotta looks in the mirror, she doesn’t recognize her own reflection. The face-blind woman experienced a chaotic childhood. Years later, suffering from a rare neurological disease, Carlotta discovers her visage through art. Through self-portraiture, she finally learns to recognize her own face. In this touching short animation, directors Valentin Riedl and Frédéric Schuld explore the inner torment of a child searching for meaning in her life.
