The International Festival of Films on Art is proud to be a promotional partner for the 100th anniversary of Marcelle Ferron’s birth. As part of the programming of its 42nd edition, our festival will host a symposium organized by Les Amis de la place Marcelle-Ferron.
Marcelle Ferron, a signatory of the Refus global and a pioneer of abstract art and public art in Quebec, has been an inspiration for numerous research projects in the fields of art history, feminism, the social involvement of artists, and public art.
This symposium, facilitated by Marie Claude Mirandette, a member of the Board of Directors of Les Amis de la place Marcelle-Ferron, will present the most recent perspectives on this iconic figure of modern Quebec art and her legacy through the interventions of seasoned researchers.
