Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, une passion dévorante
Catherine Aventurier
It’s your typical boy meets girl story. Two of the greatest painters in Mexico, Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, were also lovers nicknamed “the elephant and the dove”. This story of passion between two incompatible personalities, both defenders of Mexico and both enamored with painting, is a rich tale begetting many questions. How would this meeting between two volcanic personalities revolutionize Mexico? How would Diego access a dimension of himself still unknown to him? How would Frida become one of the most powerful young creators of modern art? Did their love story build from their paintings? Did their works, both worlds apart, yet complementary, influence one another’s work? This film explores their fascinatingly complex relationship.
