Kamikaze
Guillaume Vandenberghe, Neel Cockx
Kamikaze pays homage to Philippe Vandenberg (1952 – 2009), one of the most acclaimed Belgian painters of recent decades. Directed by Neel Cockx and by Guillaume Vandenberghe, filmmaker and the artist’s son, with the participation of Flemish author Peter Verhelst, the film was shot in a single sequence in Vandenberg’s studio in Brussels. Exploring his archives, composed of paintings, drawings, and personal objects, the film immerses viewers in Vandenberg’s life and in the abyss of art creation.
