Brian D. Johnson est un écrivain, cinéaste et commentateur culturel canadien. Il est surtout connu pour avoir été, pendant près de 30 ans, le critique de cinéma et rédacteur artistique principal de la revue Maclean’s, à laquelle il collabore toujours. Il a également été président de la Toronto Film Critics Association (2006−2017) et a créé le gala annuel de remise des prix de cette association, avec son prix Rogers du meilleur film canadien, d’une valeur de 100 000 $. En 2015, il a produit et réalisé Al Purdy Was Here, un long métrage documentaire sur ce légendaire poète canadien.
