La maison Unal
Julien Donada
The Unal House was designed by Claude Häusermann-Costy and constructed by Joël Unal from 1972 to 2008. The Unal couple dreamed of living in a single-family dwelling. The classic plans drawn up resulted in a truly unique structure: a house made of interlocking spheres or “bubbles” with no right angles, a perfect embodiment of “sculptural architecture.” For each sphere, a single construction technique was used: reinforced concrete with no casings, installed by hand within a metal frame.
