Le paradis perdu – Arvo Pärt | Robert Wilson
Günter Atteln
Among the most-performed composers of our time, Estonian Arvo Pärt, now 80, rarely appears in public. He is content to immerse himself in his music. A devoutly religious man, Pärt was forced to leave his native county in 1980. He eventually settled in Berlin. This biography is centered around Adam’s Passion, a collaboration with stage director Robert Wilson. Over the course of a year, the director followed the composer to Estonia, the Vatican and Japan, where he was awarded the Praemium Imperiale.
