Les âmes baltes : arts, légendes et paysages
Stéphane Ghez
In 1918, at the end of the First World War, the Russian Empire fell apart. The Baltic territories that would later become Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia escaped the oppressive domination experienced under Russian rule and secured their independence. In this critical historic moment, these three nations were tasked with redefining their identities. An immersion in history and art, the film examines the works that contributed to the birth of a national sentiment among the Baltic people, highlighting the pivotal contribution artists made to the political emancipation of their nations.
