Content discoverability, audience development and the sustainability of independent platform models are just some of the issues that will be raised. Jaume Ripoll

Jaume Ripoll is the co-founder and CCO Filmin, the most prominent streaming platform for independent films and series in Spain and Portugal, founded 17 years ago. Named Top 30 Vanity Fair Most Influential Spanish People in Film Industry in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

Filmin was the first SVOD service in Europe, since then it has been awarded as the Most Relevant Cultural Company in Spain in the last three years. With a catalog of over 15,000 titles, Filmin is a European reference for the breadth and quality of its collection. It is the distributor in Spain for the latest winners of the Venice (All the beauty and the bloodshed), Berlin (On the adamant), and Cannes (Anatomy of a fall) festivals. Jaume Ripoll serves as a producer for Filmin Originals, the successful original productions of Filmin, which include Autodefensa” (Best Series, SeriesMania Lille and SerienCamp). Since 2010, Jaume Ripoll has been directing the Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest, the most successful hybrid festival in Europe, with the last edition surpassing 750,000 spectators. In addition to his work as a university professor, Jaume Ripoll has just published with great success his memoir, Videoclub” (Penguin Random House).

Florence Lamothe

Florence Lamothe

Florence Lamothe est co-directrice et co-fondatrice de Tënk au Canada, une coopérative de diffusion entièrement dédiée au documentaire d’auteur. Après avoir terminé ses études en sciences politiques et communication, elle voyage pendant plusieurs années et développe une pratique de photographie argentique. En 2016, elle intègre l’équipe de Tënk en France, à Lussas, en tant qu’assistante aux acquisitions. Alors convaincue de la nécessité d’avoir un tel outil pour valoriser le documentaire d’auteur au Québec, elle développe et lance en 2020, avec Naomie Décarie-Daigneault, la branche indépendante de Tënk au Québec. Parallèlement aux divers projets qu’elle mène avec l’équipe de Tënk, elle s’amuse dans ses temps libres, à cultiver paresseusement arbres et légumes sur son lopin de terre.

Edward Humphrey

Edward Humphrey

Edward Humphrey is CEO of Marquee TV. He has over two decades of experience in digital innovation and leadership in the film and TV industry, with a focus on building and growing streaming services. He led the launch and growth of renowned international film platform BFI Player and has advised on streaming strategy for a wide range of European broadcasters. Previous roles include Director of Digital Distribution at Disney, SVP Digital at Zodiak Media (now Banijay) and Head of Digital at Virgin Media TV. Humphrey is also a Trustee and Non-Executive Director of several organizations, including the Foundling Museum.

Gavin Humphries

Gavin Humphries

Gavin Humphries is Managing Director of global online arts and culture video platform NOWNESS, part of London based Dazed Media and Meta Media in China. Based between London, Shanghai and Hong Kong, Nowness commissions numerous films each year both editorially and in partnership with international cultural partners and brands. The Nowness creative community includes its founder Jefferson Hack, Björk, Jenn Nkiru, Es Devlin, Luca Guadagnino, Crystal Moselle, Benjamin Millepied, Baloji and Cao Fei. Several Nowness commissions have premiered at international festivals, including Sundance, Tribeca, BFI London, Shanghai, Rotterdam and Clermont Ferrand. Himself a BAFTA and BIFA nominated producer, Gavin’s worked on film, television and digital projects with the British Film Institute, Google, Film4, Tate Modern, the Young Vic Theatre and the BBC. His productions have premiered at Venice Film Festival; been shortlisted for the Evening Standard Film Awards; nominated for 3 British Independent Film Awards as well as by the London Critics’ Circle; and four of his short films have premiered Sundance with one winning at Cannes Directors’ Fortnight.

Molaundo Jones

Molaundo Jones

Molaundo Jones serves as Senior Director of Communications & Partnerships for Art21 where he is responsible for Art21’s externally-facing digital platforms, public relations, and partnership development. Prior to Art21 he worked with Black Girl Ventures Foundation as Multimedia Manager where he produced marketing campaigns and content, as well as negotiated and activated corporate partnerships. He also served as Communications and Resources Manager for the New York City Arts in Education Roundtable. Molaundo has worked in external relations for Fractured Atlas and managed a series of professional development and grants programs for Queens Council on the Arts. He founded The Clever Agency, an arts-focused digital media consultancy, and serves as President of the Board of Fourth Arts Block (FAB NYC). An accomplished artist himself, Jones received his MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. He conducts his work for Art21 between New York City and Atlanta, Georgia.

Elizabeth Markevitch

Elizabeth Markevitch

Elizabeth Markevitch is the founder of ikonoTV, an international media platform streaming visual arts. She has held various roles in the international art establishment, including at Sotheby’s Geneva and as the founder of the art advisory department of Schröder Bank. Elizabeth’s passion for democratizing art led her to co-found the first-ever online art platform, eyestorm​.com in 1997. With ikonoTV, Elizabeth has created a platform that features carefully curated videos, films, and Channels with Partners as part of a VOD offering. With over 1 million downloads through SmartTV applications, ikonoTV demonstrates that art can be as accessible as music. Elizabeth’s work includes also #ArtSpeaksOut, an Open Call for video artists around climate issues during each COP since 2015 by bringing an emotional side to scientists’ research, the partnership together with WHO streaming Slow Art videos in Hospital waiting rooms, the upcoming launch of a special daily streaming program bringing art into social issues.
