The director describes his film as follows: “It is not a landscape. It is not a modern city. It has produced neither language nor industry. It is a city in ruins, marvellous, that produces nothing. Built from images from the collective imagination of film that have been cut out, distorted, and superimposed, it is a microcosm, a stratified document testifying to urban and cinematographic evolution.”
