L’ombre fragile des choses
Jacques Giraldeau
In this film journey, Jacques Giraldeau builds a bridge between then and now. It brings together a mosaic of vestiges and images captured over the years, over a lifetime. We follow the enigmatic character Évariste Quesnel from Cuba to Île-aux-Grues in Quebec, without ever fully understanding him. The film is more an invitation to contemplate, to decode its locations. Examining past and present fragments — from diary entries, film images, paintings, letters — and questioning our relationship to these distant shadows, the film makes art the archive of reality.
