Maleonn is one of the most influential conceptual artists in China. His father, Ma Ke, was the artistic director of the Shanghai Chinese Opera Theatre and a man who dedicated most of his life to the arts. Following his father’s diagnosis with Alzheimer’s, Maleonn embarks on an ambitious theatre project. Featuring giant puppets, the play is a vibrant tribute to his father. Filmed over several years by director Yang Sun, this moving documentary is an intimate look at a family that turned to artistic creation to weather one of life’s storms.
