Tobia Scarpa. The Secret Soul of Things
Elia Romanelli
The son of Italian architect Carlo Scapa, a role model for current generations, Tobia Scarpa (born in 1935) is himself an architect, notably for Benetton. He worked with his father on numerous projects, as well as with Afra Bianci for 40 years, designing furniture, glassware and graphic works. Books about their work have been published by major international publishing houses. This film attempts to capture the human experience (reading becomes a chair, a journey becomes a boat) that provides the raw material for Scarpa’s “objects.”
