Zerzura
Christopher Kirkley
The film tells the journey of a young man in search of an enchanted oasis. Shot in the Sahara desert, in and around Agadez, Niger, Zerzura is a collaborative fiction, written and developed with a Tuareg cast, in the style of “ethnofiction” proposed Jean Rouch. Mixing folktales and documentary, the film includes largely improvised performances.
