Lisa Azuelos
Disponible en anglais seulement
It was after graduating from Dauphine with a master’s degree in management, and a year as a portfolio manager, that Lisa Azuelos realized that her only love was for the cinema. Working with JP Goude, Patrice Leconte and Luc Besson, she learned the different aspects of the profession, and went on to write, produce and direct her first short film, “BURAL”, about the hellish office life she hated so much.
With her heart set on defending in each of her films the vision of a feminine often too guilt-ridden to lead a truly free existence, and some big hits at the cinema like “15 Aout”, “Comme t’y es belle”, “LOL” or “Dalida”, she decided to get involved to give a voice to the 14 million little girls married by force in the world every year through a film “14 millions de cris (14 million cries)” with Julie Gayet and Alexandre Astier.
After the explosion of the #Metoo movement, she decided to focus on teenagers, with whom she has built up a huge fanbase since “LOL”. She produced and directed the documentary “YOLOVE”, following various speakers in French high schools and middle schools to raise awareness and provide solutions to the violence (harassment, cyberbullying, rape, language…) that prevails in schoolyards.
