Brèves histoires de pierres muettes
Mario Côté
This new film by choreographer Jeanne Renaud (1928-) is based on brief personal episodes and two enigmatic stone sculptures by the artist Bruce Parsons. She invites distinguished dancers Louise Bédard and Marc Boivin to expound on her early ideas, while director Mario Côté imagines the choreography. What follows is a dialogue between choreography, dance, and cinema. The film is accompanied by the soft music of Jürg Frey, played by Quatuor Bozzini. A peaceful alliance between cinema and dance takes its place in an infinite trajectory, where memories blend in dance.
