Femmes Artistes : Annette Messager
Claudia Müller
In this episode from the series Femmes artistes, the history of art from a female perspective is recounted through the favourite works of Annette Messager, one of Europe’s most celebrated visual artists. Since the 1970s, Messager has fought against the invisibility of women by parodying female artists, their works and their preoccupations. In a virtual exhibition, she talks about the artists who inspire her, such as Alina Szapocznikow and Eva Hesse, forgotten for too long, and Elika Hedayat and Emma Dusong, two young artists.
