Four Faces of the Moon
Amanda Strong
In this animated short film in four chapters, the history of the Métis, Cree and Anishnaabe is intertwined with that of the director, Amanda Strong. She explores the notions of cultural affirmation and language revival, revisiting Canada’s colonial history. Given that the moon is a symbol of change in Cree and Anishnaabe culture, marking the passage of time, Strong invites us to reflect upon the importance of memory and cultural resistance.
