Balthazar the scarecrow holds a seashell up to his ear and hears something wonderful. A sound for which he’d leave everything else behind. Dedicated to Swiss craftsmanship, this touching short film addresses following one’s dreams in a mix of art and animation.

Born in Switzerland in 1974, Rafael Sommerhalder studied Film Direction at ECAL in Lausanne and Animation at the Royal College of Art in London. He lives and works as an
animator/filmmaker in Zurich, Switzerland.
