This documentary recounts the prodigious journey of Swiss-American civil engineer Othmar H. Ammann (1879−1965) who emigrated to the United States in 1904 and redefined the art of bridge building in America. Marked by the constant and dynamic acceleration of 20th century America, his life, career, and constructions remain breathtaking to this day.

Martin Witz
Born in Zurich in 1956, Martin Witz studied German Philology, European folk literature and journalism. He is the Co-founder of Videoladen Zürich, an independent cinematographic production group, active there till 1982. Since then, he is an independent filmmaker working in Switzerland and Germany, he works as a dramaturge and cutter. He is a member of the Swiss Film Academy.
