In Plain Air
Miranda Bellamy
Trailer
In Plain Air celebrates the long and prolific career of New Zealand artist Pauline Bellamy. We accompany her to many stunning and significant locations on New Zealand’s Lower South Island as she completes her paintings, surrounded by nature. While she works, we find out what makes her tick, where she has been, and where she is going. Having given up a lucrative career in graphic design to follow her dreams and do exactly as she pleased, the artist embodies a spirit of courage and determination — although the road hasn’t always been easy. From peaceful lake’s edge to snowy summit, we follow the artist and gain an insight into her world, among some of the most grand, powerful, and memorable landscapes in the world.

Miranda Bellamy
As a filmmaker and visual artist, Miranda Bellamy is interested in telling stories that are quiet and curious, shining a light on those characters that aren’t usually at the centre of attention. Her contemplative, confident style involves travelling often and working with a very small crew to be fluid and responsive.
