Flamenco dancer Shraddha Danielle Blaney presents an intoxicating choreography inspired by the Persian poem The Conference of the Birds by Farîd-od-Dîn Attâr. Through her movements, she tells the story of a phoenix before its transmutation by fire, as it revisits the places that were a source of joy and hope, but also of pain and suffering. It eventually tears itself from the flames to be reborn, and finally takes flight toward luminous lands.

Simon C. Vaillancourt

After completing his bachelor’s degree in communications at UQAM, Simon C. Vaillancourt began his career as an editor at MusiquePlus and then became a director at Radio-Canada. He directed magazines, commercials and short films before moving into the documentary genre, a niche he particularly likes. Over the years, he has directed the series Humanima, Animo and Van Aventure, as well as the documentaries Voler sa vie, Stanley Vollant : de Compostelle à Kujjuaq, La vie devant moi.
Camera in hand, drone on his back, he directed and produced four travel documentaries presented in theaters: À la conquête de l’Italie, Bali aujourd’hui, Thaïlande : paradis d’Asie, and Les Açores : 9 îles à faire rêver.
His quest: to probe the human soul, to capture the essence of people, to shoot real life in the open air under bush conditions, to face the unexpected, to shoot polished images, to be moved, to move and to make films that provoke thought.
