The Swiss-Italian Bergell Valley, known for its harsh climate, has fostered an entire lineage of artists: the Giacomettis. Alberto, renowned for his iconic slender sculptures, revolutionized the art world. His father was an early impressionist. What led this mountain valley to inspire such artistic brilliance? Swiss director Susanna Fanzun follows the Giacometti family’s trail, embarking on a journey to explore the roots of their creativity. With masterful paintings complemented by sketches, personal letters, contemporary witnesses and stunning alpine landscapes, the film offers an intimate, in-depth view of this remarkable family. With music by Hania Rani.
