Le FIFA is honored to welcome none other than the Centre Pompidou on March 15 and 16. As part of its 43rd edition, the festival will showcase a selection of films from this internationally renowned cultural institution — also known as Beaubourg—a space where disciplines intersect, where artists and audiences engage in dialogue, right in the heart of the French capital.

This exclusive program has been curated by Jonathan Pouthier, Head of Programming for the Film Collection of the National Museum of Modern Art, Centre Pompidou, Paris. Three thematic screenings will highlight a diverse range of films exploring how we represent ourselves, how we portray others and the world, and how we perceive time beyond the constraints of history.

From Sophie Calles road trip to Joëlle de La Casinières documentary essay, from the structural cinema of Djourah Abouda and Alain Bonnamy to Andrew Köttings filmed performance, each work embraces a unique approach to cinematic creation, showcasing the richness and diversity of the field.

At the invitation of Le FIFA, this carte blanche offers a glimpse into the work carried out in recent years by the teams of the Film Collection department at the National Museum of Modern Art. […] In the era of post-truth and post-history: How do we represent ourselves? Can we represent the other and the elsewhere? How can we experience time outside of history? […] These deliberately open-ended questions run as a common thread through the three screenings, primarily built around recent acquisitions. These works explore experimental cinematic creation while revealing the richness and diversity of these approaches. They also highlight the essential challenges a collection faces in the present moment. — Jonathan Pouthier, Head of Programming for the Film Collection of the National Museum of Modern Art, Centre Pompidou, Paris.
