New European Tour for Le FIFA

The International Festival of Films on Art will present more than thirty films during its fall tour in Venice, Paris, Tourcoing, and Hauterives, adding two more stops in Milan and Prague. The program includes dance films featuring works by Mistaya Hemingway and Kaveh Nabatian, Chantal Caron, and Hofesh Shechter, as well as fashion with the film Ancestral Threads by Canadian director Sean Stiller. Architecture is also highlighted with a selection of four films by Australian artist Liam Young, who opened our 42nd edition. Additionally, the program includes selected or awarded films dedicated to painter Georgia O’Keeffe, Emilio Ambasz, and Mark Rothko.
Le FIFA continues to showcase its expertise in programming and promoting films on art, adding two more stops to its tour (Prague and Milan), thereby renewing strong partnerships with iconic cultural ambassadors of international stature. This European tour also emphasizes a shared commitment to exchange and openness between these organizations, which actively promote the production and dissemination of films on art and media arts, while encouraging new talent in creation for the general public, film enthusiasts, and art lovers. Driven by this mission, the Festival is delighted to have carte blanche to present ambitious programs in centers of cultural excellence.
This fall, the Festival will be present for the fourth consecutive year at the Palazzo Grassi in Venice, from October 3 to 6, 2024, to present a special program honoring the best in art film. With over 20 years of collaboration with what some call the “high-tech Villa Medici,” Le FIFA will be at the Studio national des arts contemporains from November 22 to 24 to present about ten award-winning feature films. For the second year, Le FIFA will be a special guest at one of France’s most visited monuments: the Palais Idéal du Facteur Cheval on September 27. Finally, Le FIFA is proud to once again partner with the dynamic Centre culturel canadien à Paris for a series of special screenings on October 10.
New this year, the festival will stop at the Czech festival Architektura in Prague on September 28, for World Architecture Day, and in Milan for a special screening at Il Cinemino cinema on October 9.
“Over the years, Le FIFA has established fruitful exchanges with cultural ambassadors on the international scene, consolidating strong, structural ties that are essential to Canadian and Quebec cultural diplomacy. At the same time, we’re digging deeper into new collaborations, expanding our network to further promote the work of local creators. These new stops in Prague and Milan are a testament to this dynamic openness and commitment to art and culture,” said Philippe U. del Drago, Le FIFA General and Artistic Director.
