This year, the International Festival of Films on Art (FIFA), in collaboration with the Fotogenia Festival (Mexico), Dart (Chile), and ARCA International Festival of Films on Arts (Uruguay), is proud to launch Autochtonies des Amériques, a project designed to highlight the cinematic creations from Indigenous communities across the Americas. The goal is to celebrate the diversity and richness of Indigenous voices by providing a platform where their stories can be shared, heard, and valued.
Autochtonies des Amériques is based on a central idea: to create an annual and pluralistic meeting point between Indigenous communities, film enthusiasts, and partner festivals. Each edition will offer a unique and evolving program, built in collaboration with Indigenous artists, curators, and organizations, to reflect the diversity of stories, traditions, and forms of art.
Beyond simply screening films, this project aims to become a true crossroads of ideas and expressions. Each gathering will be an opportunity for exchange, learning, and building lasting connections between artists, curators, partner organizations, festivals, and audiences. Together, we hope to contribute to a greater recognition of Indigenous voices in the international cinematic and cultural landscape.
