Tralkan Küra/Piedra Trueno
Francisco Huichaqueo
Presented only in theatres
This film is part of the program Indigeneities of the Americas
Stones can have a practical life in the form of an axe, a mallet, a mortar, but they also have other mysterious lives. The human hand does not always carve them; sometimes, something breaks in the sky and sparks flash. Sometimes, it is lightning that turns them into a stone of power, newenkura. A roar, a cloud opens, and thunder strikes the stone, awakening its energy. Tralkan, a stormy word, an instantaneous initiation of the stone. Tralkankura, thunder stone, a stone that strikes and holds the cracks in the sky, a stone that has awakened.
