Guandong works as a guard at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. His 14-year-old son has just passed the entrance exam to study the French horn. And yet, the dream of both father and son is that he study abroad. Since their family home in Jinan was knocked down, they live their lives, for the most part, at the Conservatory. From his post, Guandong keeps watch over his son.

Lou Du Pontavice
Lou was born in 1992 in Paris. After four years of studying litterature, philosophy and cinema at la Sorbonne (Paris), she entered in the cinema school INSAS in directing section (2014). She does both documentary and fictional work there, most of it have in common a preparatory documentary work with real characters. The part of fiction allows her to achieve a certain aesthetic and scriptwriting freedom in telling her stories.
