“In a sensitive and inventive essay, director Agathe Feoux explores the contradictions of the female experience while asserting her own artistic vision. She tackles a contemporary issue — the control of algorithms — with courage and originality.” - Jacinthe Brisebois, FIFA Programming Director
“Directed by François Nemeta, his friend and cinematographer of 20 years, the film takes us into the world of filmmaker Michel Gondry, where humor, fantasy and creativity have always guided his choices, even in the most fragile moments. We mustn’t forget that art and creation are at the heart of the human condition. This film is a good example of that, and we feel it’s essential to remember it in today’s world.” — Jacinthe Brisebois, FIFA Programming Director

If Georges Méliès had a modern heir, it would obviously be Michel Gondry!
“Michel Gondry: Do It Yourself” offers an intimate and captivating portrait of a visionary artist who revolutionized the world of music videos and cinema. Renowned for his eccentric visual style, he has become a household name after collaborating with global icons such as Björk, Daft Punk and The Rolling Stones. His almost self-taught approach to filmmaking has made him a benchmark in the industry, winning him an Oscar for the film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. This documentary, directed by François Nemeta — who has worked as director of photography with Gondry for many years — offers an immersion into the eclectic universe of this creator. With contributions from the likes of Kylie Minogue (pop singer), Beck (multi-instrumentalist), Jack White (musician), Spike Jonze (director), and Charlotte Gainsbourg (actress and singer), this rare documentary offers a privileged glimpse into the world of Gondry. Michel Gondry: Do It Yourself takes us into the singular world of an artist who never ceases to push back the boundaries of visual creativity.
