Le FIFA is happy to open its 42nd edition with the short film presented at the last Venice Architecture Biennale, The Great Endeavor by Liam Young (USA/​Australia), and the feature-length film Obvious, hackers de l’art by Thibaut Sève (France).

Two films that place art at the forefront of the challenges of the future. Two films in which art meets science and technology to inspire the foundations of a new world.

An evening copresented with the PHI Centre, in the presence of director Thibaut Sève and two members of the Obvious collective.

The director of the documentary Obvious, hackers of art, followed this trio of creative and engaging young artists during key moments in their evolution as they became pioneers in learning AI. Presenting their unusual journey gives us a better understanding of the new challenges facing today’s young artists. For better or for worse, we can no longer ignore the new technologies that are increasingly part of our daily lives. Dialogue-free, it relies on an immersive soundtrack to depict a futuristic world where immense energy structures and ships loom over tumultuous oceans. Through sophisticated VFX imagery, this short film envisions the construction of the largest engineering project in human history: the capture and underground storage of carbon dioxide on a gigaton scale, comparable to the global fossil fuel industry…
