Carmen is the first feature film by Benjamin Millepied, the renowned choreographer and former director of ballet at the Paris Opera. This bold contemporary adaptation of Prosper Mérimée’s Carmen replaces Bizet’s opera with mesmerizing choreography set to Nicholas Britell’s music. Set in the American South, the film follows the sultry love story of Carmen (Melissa Barrera) and introduces us to Masilda, the club owner in Los Angeles, portrayed by the incredible Rossy De Palma.
