FIFA Expérimental - MIGRATIONS

FIFA Expérimental — MIGRATIONS

Presented only in theatres

FIFA EXPÉRIMENTAL is an out-of-competition, by-invitation section of the festival put together by visual and media arts curator Nicole Gingras, from Montreal. This selection highlights innovative approaches to film and video from the following angles: creative processes, modes of collaboration between artists in the production of a work, the workings of memory on identity, and the place of the individual in society. This ambitious panorama of exploratory cinema is composed of twenty-four works assembled into four programs. Each film, each video, bears a unique signature, and all the artists are privileged witnesses and revealing agents of their time and the events that shape it.

The eight works in the FIFA Expérimental – MIGRATIONS program address notions of mobility and identity. Migration is explored from a conceptual, analytical, ironic, melancholic, autobiographical, anthropological, or symbolic approach.
