Goddess of Speed

A film titled Dance Movie (or, alternatively, Rollerskate) appears in many of Andy Warhols filmographies, but no work bearing this title has been found in the archives. The lost film, featuring dancer Fred Herko, was shot in 1963. A year later, Herko danced out of an open window to his death to the sounds of Mozarts Coronation Mass in C major. Inspired by descriptions of the missing film, Goddess of Speed poetically reimagines the last days of the young dancer.
