This film will be presented during the La Nuit de la danse event on March 21st, 2025 at Théâtre Outremont.
On a beautiful summer day, while friends, families and children are enjoying the beautiful weather, three dancers and a musician cross Laurier Park. Their journey suggests that of refugees and asylum seekers who must face a multitude of adversities to reach a haven of peace.
Based on the in situ work Vers l’Autre by Montreal choreographer Lucie Grégoire, the filmmaker breaks the peace and tranquility of Laurier Park by introducing the sounds of bombings, machine guns and real explosions, which are part of the daily lives of Ukrainians, Gazans and Lebanese.

D’origine portugaise, Paulo Castro Lopes a fait ses études en production cinématographique à l’Université Concordia à Montréal.
Depuis plus de 30 ans, Paulo a parcouru le monde en tant que preneur de son sur différents films de fictions, séries fictions, séries documentaires et documentaires. Il est récipiendaire d’un Prix Gémeaux.
Comme cinéaste il a écrit, réalisé et monté plusieurs vidéos documentaire, d’art-photo et de danse. Depuis 2007 il travaille en tant que vidéaste, dramaturge et concepteur d’éclairage avec la compagnie de danse contemporaine : Lucie Grégoire Danse. Racines Errantes est sa première application au FIFA.
