This film is part of the FIFA Expérimental section program Toucher à distance.
The video Comment tenir le vide : 3 tentatives by Rachel Echenberg is broken down into chapters: Le slow (slow dance), Le vent (the wind) and La barrière (the barrier). The central theme of loss in this work for two performers is portrayed through the attempt to hold onto breakable or intangible things. In the vast surrounding landscape of Îles-de-la-Madeleine, the actions are juxtaposed to the strong presence of natural elements, like wind and fog. Although the performances require some endurance, they mostly speak to poetic connections of care, dependency, and transformation.
Comment tenir le vide : 3 tentatives is performed and produced in collaboration with Sébastian Worsnip, long-time collaborator to Rachel Echenberg performance practice.
In presence of the director Rachel Echenberg on March 15 in Montréal.
