Keith Haring’s stylized silhouettes and drawings are instantly recognizable. A true social phenomenon, this artist revolutionized contemporary art in the space of a single decade, and his work is immortalized in hospitals, churches, casinos, and gardens, as well as on walls, in galleries, and on posters and t‑shirts. Known for his great generosity and for his friendships with Madonna, Yoko Ono, Grace Jones, Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and David LaChapelle, he championed street art until his death from AIDS in 1990 at the age of just 31. This affectionate portrayal of the Petit Prince de New York” brings together exceptional archival images, powerful interviews, and a soundtrack that conjures up the era of intellectual and sexual freedom, eccentricity, and wild creativity that was the 1980s.
