Ce film est inspiré par la vie et les peintures de l’artiste d’origine polonaise, Tamara de Lempicka. Icône de l’art déco, les collectionneurs s’arrachent encore de nos jours ses peintures modernes aux couleurs vives. La réalisatrice Iwona Pasinska explore la dualité de l’artiste à travers la danse : d’un côté, elle est submergée par une frénésie artistique qui éveille son démon intérieur ; de l’autre, elle est calme et figée dans une attente perpétuelle. Les mouvements des danseuses reflètent l’élégance et la précision des peintures de cette artiste exceptionnelle.

Iwona Pasinska is a choreographer, movement dramatist, theatre theorist, artistic director of Movements Factory and co-founder of the Movements Factory Foundation. She graduated from the F. Parnell Ballet School in Lódz. In 1997 Pasinska became the principal dancer of the Polish Dance Theatre (PTT) – Poznan Ballet. Since 2010 she has been collaborating as choreographer or movement dramaturge with dramatic theatres, operas and alternative theatres. She holds a degree in theatre theory from the A. Mickiewicz University in Poznan, where she also did her PhD, focusing on the experience of the body in contemporary theatre from the perspective of dance theatre. In 2016 she has become the Director of the Polish Dance Theatre.
