Abyssal explores an ambivalent and complex femininity, entangled in archaic forms yet yearning for emancipation. From an obsession with purity to groping blindly in an unfamiliar freedom, Abyssal probes the depth of intimacy, embodying a journey of self-discovery that is a once distressing and transcendent; it reveals a stripped-down body, seeking only to exist.

Xavier Curnillon
Xavier Curnillon is a director, editor and visual artist based in Montreal. He specializes in capturing movement and conceptualizing projects related to dance. His films focus on the microcosm of the human body in our society. He has built up his experience in video dance by collaborating with numerous choreographers such as Louise Bédard, Paul-André Fortier, Hélène Blackburn, Danièle Desnoyers, Mélanie Demers, Ann Van den Broek, Virginie Brunelle, Kettly Noël, Morgane Le Tiec, Sylvain Émard, Paco Ziel, Emmanuel Jouthe, Su Feh-Lee, Manuel Roque, Ismaël Mouaraki, Catherine Gaudet, Valeria Gallucio and Jérémy Galdeano.

Morgane Le Tiec

Morgane Le Tiec est une artiste-interprète et chorégraphe dont les œuvres mélangent art visuel, théâtralité et chorégraphie. Après plusieurs années de scène en tant qu’interprète pour des compagnies internationales renommées telles que La la la Human Steps, Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal et la compagnie Marie Chouinard, Morgane explore à son tour la chorégraphie. Elle crée souvent ses projets alliant plusieurs formes d’art à son travail (vidéo, littérature, sculpture, théâtre). Ses créations lui ont d’ailleurs valu plusieurs prix, le prix du Public en 2015 pour sa pièce Sous ma peau, puis le prix du jury en contexte urbain en 2018 pour son solo Au-delà des ecchymoses. Elle est actuellement directrice artistique de la compagnie de danse Sursaut.
