Marion Chuniaud
Marion Chuniaud a director based in Montreal, Marion trained in cinema at the National Institute of Image and Sound (Montreal) and holds a master’s degree in international and intercultural communication. She directed her first medium-length documentary “Voces Berracas” in 2019 to meet women peace activists in Colombia, then “Statu Quo” on the links between dancing bodies, which will be presented at several international festivals (Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma (Canada, 2022), Regard International Short Film Festival (Canada, 2022), Dresden International Short Film Festival (Germany, 2021); Quartiers Danses Festival (Canada, 2021); Lonque Vue Sur Le Court Festival (Canada, 2021), ReelHeARI International Film and Screenplay Festival (EU, 2021).
She recently completed her first experimental short film on the memory of the body “Origen” supported by the CAC and the NFB, in which she explores hybrid experimental avenues. The body in motion, memory, the feeling of belonging and the challenges of social transformation for a more just and inclusive society have always inspired her reflections. This is what anchors her in her community roots from here and elsewhere.
