Jouer Trailer
Experimental filmmaker Guillaume Vallée explores and interrogates the partially erased sensory memory of his adolescent years in this cameraless animated short created using a 35mm trailer for Céline Sciammas feature film Water Lilies (Naissance des pieuvres, 2007). This process of resuscitating long-buried experiences and forgotten remembrances derives from the materiality of the 35mm stock, the nature of the filmed images and Vallée’s painted and scratched interventions directly on the film emulsion. In this journey into the past, the memory-images and affects reveal their plasticity, imperfections, chaos, sensuality, and salience.

This film is part of the FIFA EXPERIMENTAL section program BACK AND FORTH.

In presence of the director Guillaume Vallée on March 17, 2022 from 17h30 at Théâtre Outremont.
