Oli London, a 30-year-old English citizen, is fascinated by South Korea and especially by K?pop world star Jimin. For years, they have spent a fortune on plastic surgery to look like him. This short film depicts London’s personal journey in the form of a collage-like Korean account of shamanism and mask making.

Yan Tomaszewski

Yan Tomaszewski is a Franco-Polish artist who works at the intersection of cinema, sculpture, and installation. Trained at École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, at École Normale Supérieure in Lyon and at Le Fresnoy Studio national des arts contemporains, his often narrative projects combine research-based methodologies with visually seductive outcomes. His first film, The Good Breast and the Bad Breast (2019) was an inquiry into the mysterious destruction of a modernist villa in California. It was screened at FID Marseille (France), DocLisboa (Portugal) and Rencontres Internationales Paris Berlin (France/Germany). His second film, Gangnam Beauty (2020) stages the process of transformation through plastic surgery of a young Englishman fascinated by Korean models, whom he aspires to resemble.
As a visual artist, he has had solo exhibitions at the Archaeological Museum in Krakow (Poland), at the Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace in Le Bourget (France) or the Middelheim Museum in Antwerp (Belgium). He has taken part in numerous group shows, notably at the MAK Center for Art and Architecture in Los Angeles (USA), at Artience Daejeon (Korea), at the Fondation Hippocrène in Paris (France), at the Centre Pompidou (France), and at Manifesta 9 in Genk (Belgium). In 2019 he was nominated for the Prix Sciences Po pour l’art contemporain.
