This film will be presented during the event La Nuit du court on March 16, 2024 at Concordia University.

Si-Dodécalogue : Migrations is one of the chapters in a series of twelve poetic essays, Si-Dodécalogue dedicated to timeless heroes. If the stories of the cities become those of everyone, the only way to build one’s identity remains the imaginary. Therefore, revealing in filigree her socio-cultural fabric, the Argentinian-Montrealer artist Laura Bari reacts to the brilliance of her time through what she paints, films, and writes in different languages.

Laura Bari

Originally from Argentina, in the province of Mendoza, Laura Bari has been living in Montreal for thirty years. She chooses film, writing and drawing to bring together Arts, Culture, mental health issues and education in the creation of her projects. Exploring and integrating the real and the imaginary, that duality inherent in the human condition, Laura integrates poetry, images, voice and sound to create through interdisciplinarity. For her, this is a form of life, a form of commitment that inks and liberates the visible and the invisible in a movement towards the Other. The lives of the unknown heroes she chooses are at once magnificent and hideous, despairing and happy, necessary and uncertain: they inspire and transform. Laura Bari has completed a trilogy of feature films: (ANTOINE — 2009, ARIEL — 2013, and PRIMAS — 2018), documentaries screened in cinemas, widely broadcast and premiered in festivals around the world, such as IDFA Amsterdam, Hot Docs, , Mar del Plata Film Festival, True False Film festival, Leipzig Film Festival, Thessaloniki Documentary Film Festival, TRIBECA Film Festival, Cinéma Vérité Tehran, RIDM Montreal; Guadalajara Film Festival; Auburn Film Festival Australia, One World Film Festival, Prague . and others. In 2022 – 23, she received a grant for literary creation from the Conseil des Arts du Québec, and completed her first collection of poetry Le corps est une maison sans grands-parents”, which will be published in 2025. In 2024, she created SI, DODECALOGUE”, a series of experimental poetic essays revealing key events of our time, to be unveiled in three successive parts.
