The Salt of the Earth by Juliano Ribeiro Salgado & Wim Wenders | Cinémathèque Québécoise (Montreal, Canada)
Presented in collaboration with the Centre d’art et essai de la Cinémathèque québécoise, this film by Wim Wenders and Juliano Ribeiro Salgado tells the story of photographer Sebastião Salgado, who for 40 years travelled the continents in search of a humanity in the throes of change. He has borne witness to the major events that have marked our recent history: international conflicts, famine, exodus… He is now embarking on a gigantic photographic project, a tribute to the beauty of the planet, to discover virgin territories with grandiose landscapes and wild flora and fauna. His life and work are revealed through the eyes of his son, Juliano, who accompanied him on his last journeys, and Wim Wenders, himself a photographer.
